This rocking chair was passed down from the client's grandmother. Unfortunately, one of the spindles broke and the joints of the chair had come loose over time. Though not a complete restoration, the break and the joints were fixed, giving this chair a new life!
This chair snapped in half along the grain line and was able to be repaired almost perfectly. And because wood glue is stronger than the wood itself, this chair is as good as new!
This one was definitely an odd break. For a repair like this, epoxy with an added spline for reinforcement did the trick. Though, this technically can't fully restore the original strength, it typically is strong enough, so long as the chair is used properly.
